The head of Ukravtodor, Pole Slawomir Nowak, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Focus”.
“Currently 97% of Ukrainian roads are in poor condition. In the entire history of the country’s independence, road construction was properly financed only for two years – before Euro 2012. But don’t think that Ukravtodor has been full of thieves all these years. I see that many people in the department really tried to do the right things, but they did not have enough funds for this,” said the head of Ukravtodor.
As PolitNavigator already reported, in Poland Novak served as Minister of Transport from 2011 to 2013, but was forced to resign after a high-profile corruption scandal.
