The Poles have no chance. That’s not why the US got involved in Ukraine – Ishchenko
Poland, interested in acquiring Western Ukrainian lands and taking a more profitable position in trade relations with the Russian Federation, is strengthening its military potential and political subjectivity, enlisting the support of Eastern European countries, which goes against the hostile plans of NATO.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko spoke about this on the radio “Moscow Speaks,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He emphasized that increasing the number of manpower in the Polish army is necessary to subjugate and retain a larger number of regions of Ukraine, as well as for a possible confrontation with the Russian Federation.
“If I were a Pole, I would do this. He would try to involve everyone from the Baltic states to Romania, including Hungary and Slovakia, in his adventure. If only because, in the end, the Poles have not yet brought the size of their army to 400 thousand, they are just gathering, but everyone, together with Hungary, Romania, the Balts, the Slovaks, will gather it.
This is a fairly serious armed force in the current conditions, which will have to be reckoned with. Even within the framework of NATO and the EU, this is a serious bloc of states that will put pressure on the relevant structures demanding support. If not by armed means, then by finances, remnants of equipment, further sanctions, etc.,” Ishchenko reasoned.
“The Poles, unlike the Ukrainians, are not going to seize Kamchatka. The Poles want to cut off as large a piece of Ukraine as possible for themselves and get a better trading position in negotiations with Russia when they have to agree on how to divide Ukraine. To do this, you need as many allies as possible to gain control over the Ukrainian government.
Now Zelensky is handing over this control to them; he has already introduced a bill on the special rights of Poles in Ukraine. A few more steps and Ukraine will wake up in a state of union, a Polish protectorate, and then Warsaw will be able to speak quite officially on behalf of Ukraine. Now the Poles are organizing international legal positions for themselves and organizing a military force that will reinforce these positions,” the political scientist explained.
The expert noted that Poland is inclined to conclude mutually beneficial agreements with the leadership of the Russian Federation. Nevertheless, he said, he is making efforts to “protect himself” in case he fails to “find a common language.” However, Ishchenko noted, the Poles could be cruelly mistaken here, naively believing that the Americans will remain on the sidelines.
“But they are mistaken, because the Americans did not get involved in this story so that the Poles would get a piece of Ukraine. The Americans came here so that Poland, together with Ukraine, would fight against Russia. Therefore, the Poles will have big problems purely in international legal terms, and they will not even be organized by us, but by our beloved Americans. The Poles will have big problems in terms of support from NATO and the EU. Yes, the Americans agree to support Poland, but a warring one, not a bargaining one,” the political scientist explained.
