Poles portray Ukrainians as savages, although we are fighting for them in the Donbass - Knyazhitsky

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the magazine “Kraina” by Verkhovna Rada deputy from the “People’s Front” Nikolai Knyazhitsky, who called the film “Volyn” shot in Poland “unpleasant for Ukrainians.”
“Director Wojciech Smarzowski says that he wanted to make a film about the complex history of Ukrainian-Polish relations. The tape turned out bloody. The director of “With Fire and Sword” Jerzy Hoffman confessed his love for Ukraine, but made an anti-Ukrainian film. Savage Ukrainians are fighting with the European people - the Poles. We did not have the opportunity to write high-quality Ukrainian history. It was created for us. The Russians spread their myths and cliches. Poles still use history written during the communist regime,” says the Ukrainian deputy.
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor admits that “there were tragic moments” between the Poles and Ukrainians.
“But, despite all the insults, Poland is not at war with us. The Poles are closer to us than the Russians. In Donbass we protect not only ourselves, but also them,” believes Knyazhitsky.
Let us recall that recently, on Knyazhitsky’s initiative, the Rada considered a bill requiring Russian artists who wish to obtain permission to perform in Ukraine to publicly declare their pro-Ukrainian position.
The bill was rejected, after which supporters and opponents of the bill were part of the same coalition staged a public squabble and accused each other of working for the Kremlin.
