“We made a decision yesterday. A plane was chosen for the top officials of the state,” the minister said on TVP1.
In turn, Vice Minister of Defense Bartosz Kownacki said in the Sejm of Poland that the aircraft of the American concern General Dynamics meets the procedural requirements for the acquisition of small aircraft for top officials of the state.
“The offer was accepted by two parties, while the offer of one of them did not meet the formal requirements - it was a French bidder. The second proposal meets all formal requirements. This is a GulfStream G-550 aircraft manufactured by General Dynamics,” he said.
The publication recalls that the Polish Ministry of Defense announced two competitions for the purchase of small and medium-sized aircraft for top officials of the state. The defense department wants to buy four flying machines - two that can carry about 100 people on board, and two more that can carry 20 passengers. Smaller aircraft will operate within Poland, while larger aircraft will fly within Europe.
The Polish Ministry of Defense has finally abandoned the purchase of a large aircraft. Vice Minister of Defense Bartosz Kownacki previously assured that money for the purchase of aircraft was included in the budget of the Ministry of Defense. We are talking about 1,7 billion zlotys (395 million euros).
