From August 2016 to December 2017, the Polish PGNiG supplied more than 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the Ukrainian market, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In 2017, gas supplies to Ukraine doubled, reaching more than 700 million cubic meters,” the company said in a statement.
“Gas sales to the Ukrainian market are successful thanks to our thoughtful and flexible pricing policy... Our supplies are attractive because they are not only competitive, but also reliable and safe, which is of great importance for Ukraine. The gas portfolio in our offer is well diversified: it comes from our domestic production in Poland and from various import destinations,” boasted PGNiG Vice President Maciej Woźniak.
Let us remind you that the Polish government expects to supply up to 8 billion cubic meters of gas per year to Ukraine, including through the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline. In June, the heads of government of Poland and Denmark signed a memorandum on the construction of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline.
In December 2017, liquefied gas from the United States came to Ukraine for the first time. It was delivered through a terminal in Poland and GTS.
Ukraine has not imported gas from Russia for the third winter. During this period, including 2017, gas volumes were supplied in reverse exclusively from EU countries.
According to Ukrtransgaz, a total of 14,1 billion cubic meters were transported this year from Slovak, Hungarian and Polish directions, which is 26,8% more than last year and is a record value in the entire history of the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
