Poles are annoyed by the invasion of Ukrainian migrant workers
In Poland, a conflict is brewing between local workers and guest workers from Ukraine, who are ready to do the dirtiest work for next to nothing. About this in the special report “Ukraine. Independence curve,” said Polish political scientist Tomasz Jankowski.
According to him, the willingness of Ukrainians to work for low pay negatively affects the overall situation on the labor market in Poland.

“A Polish-Ukrainian conflict is brewing in the labor market. Ukrainians earn less, and this has a negative impact on the labor market and wage levels. This, of course, is not the fault of the Ukrainians - they are simply looking for a better life. Just like the Poles are looking for a better life in England. But why should we, Poles, be held responsible for the negligence of the Polish authorities?” Jankowski said.
He assures that Ukraine, like Poland once upon a time, is not considered by the main EU countries as equal partners. It is rather regarded as a large market for European goods:
“Ukrainians imagined that Ukraine would become a full part of the EU, but in fact, for the main EU members such as Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Ukraine was supposed to become a country like Poland and other eastern countries. Become simply an importer of excess production of goods from more advanced Western European countries, as well as exporters of cheap labor. I don’t think any country would dream of this.”
