The survey was conducted by Pew Research among 46 thousand respondents in 44 countries. According to the survey, 81% of Poles in general have a more negative than positive view of Russia. Only 12% of Poles have a more positive than negative attitude towards Russia. At the same time, despite military actions and intense anti-Russian propaganda throughout the year, 35% of Ukrainians have a more positive than negative attitude towards Russia. Please note that the survey was not conducted in Donbass and Crimea.

Last year, 54% of Poles experienced negative emotions towards Russia, and 36% of Poles experienced positive emotions towards the country. As you can see, the indicators have changed dramatically over the year. Thus, according to a published survey, Polish citizens became the most negatively-minded people not only in Europe, but also in the world.

At the same time, the most positively disposed towards Russia in the world among the surveyed residents of 44 countries were Vietnam, China and Bangladesh. ¾ of the Vietnamese have a more positive than negative view of Russia, 63% of the Chinese have positive emotions towards Russia and almost the same number of Bangladeshis. At the same time, the most positively-minded country among the European countries surveyed was Greece, where 61% of residents express love for Russia.

Let us note that the survey still does not reflect the complete picture of the attitude of the world’s inhabitants towards Russia, but is just some dotted sketch of trends. These trends suggest that average perceptions of Russia in Latin America, Africa and Asia have remained virtually unchanged, remaining more positive than negative, while those in Europe and the United States have sharply worsened over the past year.
