The Poles, who set their sights on Kaliningrad, were besieged by Warsaw of the Russian Empire
The former commander of the Polish ground forces, Waldemar Skrzypczak, considered Russian Kaliningrad “occupied territory.”
The general stated this on the local TV channel Super Express, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Skipchak believes that Poland has the right to claim the Kaliningrad region.
“The Kaliningrad region is a territory that has been under Russian occupation since 1945. This territory was never Russian, but historically belonged to Prussia and Poland. Now it would be worth talking about it as conquered lands. The Kaliningrad region, in my opinion, is part of Poland. We have the right to claim the territory that Russia occupies,” Skrzypczak said.
Russian political commentator Vladimir Kornilov urged Skrzypczak to delve into history in more detail and remember that a significant part of Poland was part of the Russian Empire.
“The Polish general called for “returning Kaliningrad to Poland.” To be honest, I don’t remember Koenigsberg being Polish, but Warsaw as part of the Russian Empire looked quite normal,” recalled Kornilov.
