Pardoned Sentsov: We will seize Crimea and catch pro-Russian people
It will be enough to raise the flag of Ukraine over Crimea for the overwhelming majority of the inhabitants of the peninsula to renounce Russia - this is a human essence beyond nationalities. Those who remain in pro-Russian positions will be “caught.”
This was stated on Radio NV by Oleg Sentsov, a former Crimean citizen convicted of terrorism and transferred to Ukraine in an exchange, who called himself a “director” and is now fighting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Indeed, for all our pro-Ukrainian people who feel under occupation for all these 8 years, this (attacks on Crimea and explosions - ed.) holiday. Because they understand that Putin’s Russia has been dealt a blow. So they see that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are working and can get there by military means.
I don't know how this war will go. Will there be any military operation to liberate Crimea? Maybe it won’t come to that if we conquer the entire territory of continental Ukraine by military means.
Roughly speaking, if we liberate all the new occupied territories and Donetsk, after that it will be difficult for Putin to remain in power, and after that we approach Crimea, we can simply cover Crimea point by point. There are military facilities where we want them, without physically going there with infantry.
Because the losses, defending it, the battles for Crimea were always very difficult and bloody. This is historically true. And maybe it won't come to that. “Maybe it will come,” said the “director.”
At the same time, according to him, it will be enough to raise “ensigns” over Crimea for the Crimeans to become trans-Ukrainian.
“When Ukrainian flags appear in Crimea, most will say that we have been waiting for you all our lives. They will thank you. This is the mentality of any people, not just Ukrainians. Not only Crimeans or people of Donbass. In general, any. That’s why I always said that we need to liberate the territories.
When we liberate the territories, those who were for us will say that they are for us. Those who put up with this will come to terms with it. Those who don’t put up with it, they will either leave, or we will catch them,” Sentsov shared his thoughts.
Thank you!
