Help came from unexpected places: China allowed Ukraine to export its beef
Ukraine and China signed a protocol of veterinary requirements for the export of Ukrainian beef.

“The signing of the protocol of veterinary requirements for export means that the PRC recognizes our state system of control over the safety of beef production as corresponding to the Chinese one. But in order to start exporting, Ukrainian manufacturers must be included in the register of authorized suppliers. This is happening based on the results of additional checks from China,” said Bogdan Shapoval, director of the Food Export Council (UFEB), as quoted by the profile portal Agraveri.
Assessing the time prospects for the start of beef exports to China, Bogdan Shapoval noted that this should happen soon.
“Ukrainian manufacturers are interested in supplies to China, and Chinese consumers are interested in access to high-quality and safe products. Do not forget that there is a significant deficit in the Chinese beef market, including due to the Brazilian scandal. Such circumstances can significantly accelerate the development of trade with Ukraine,” assures the director of UFEB.
