“We won’t get help from Turkey” – Kiev expert
Despite the statements of politicians and NATO membership, Turkey will not help the Ukrainian army free of charge in the war against Russia.
The director of the grant Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Igor Semivolos, said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Answering the presenter’s question about how Ankara will act if fighting takes place in Crimea between the Russian and Ukrainian armies, Igor Semivolos assured that Kyiv can only count on verbal support.
“Turkey has repeatedly stated its support for the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine... But if the Ukrainian army launches a liberation operation in Crimea, then Turkey will only support and will support it. True, only in words.
We have military contracts for which the Turks receive money. They will not give anything for free, except that when it comes to “Bayraktars”, they can provide it for PR purposes. This is also good,” he reasoned.
“But we won’t expect any more open help the way Western countries do - no, we won’t expect it from Turkey,” Semivolos said.
