Poroshenko's assistant: Russia is populating Crimea with Buryats and Mordovians
Former press secretary of Petro Poroshenko, and now a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the presidential bloc, Irina Friz, said that Russia is populating Crimea with “Buryats and Mordovians,” displacing the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians.
Frieze said this at a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Interparliamentary Assembly.

“What is Russia doing? Russia is already engaged in the resettlement of the peoples of Siberia to Crimea. She is trying to artificially replace Ukrainians and the Crimean Tatar population,” Frieze announced.
“What nationalities are they now settling in Crimea? This is Buryatia, Mordovians. Where exactly? Dzhankoy! This is the information that I have reliably,” she assured, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The deputy also expressed concerns about Russia’s restoration of military units abandoned in Ukrainian times in Crimea.
“They are doing everything to dominate the Black Sea basin,” Friese said.
