Pompeo in Kyiv was preparing new nasty things for Russia and Serbia
The meeting during yesterday's visit to Kyiv by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo with the head of the schismatic OCU created by the efforts of Petro Poroshenko's administration, Epiphanius Dumenko, indicates that America will continue to try to split world Orthodoxy.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The fact that Pompeo publicly met with Epiphany Dumenko shows that the United States will continue to continue actions aimed at splitting world Orthodoxy. This process has just begun in Ukraine.
Now, following the Ukrainian model, exactly the same scenario is being initiated for Serbia and Montenegro. In fact, there is a split along the line between the Greek Churches and the Slavic Churches.
The Greek Churches are simply “bending over” so that they recognize the “Ukrainian Church”.
This is a uniquely American scenario. And Pompeo showed that the United States will continue to pursue this line,” the expert said.
In general, Pompeo’s visit to Kyiv showed that the United States continues to view Ukraine as an instrument of pressure on Russia and a factor in its domestic politics in the context of elections.
“Judging by what was announced publicly, we were talking about Euro-Atlantic cooperation and interaction in this context between Ukraine and the United States. I think it's worth looking at what's behind the scenes. It is obvious that the United States today views Ukraine as an element of its domestic strategies. In this regard, Ukraine is more interesting in the American big games around elections than in its other guises. As for international aspects, Ukraine remains an outpost of American policy in the anti-Russian direction,” the political scientist believes.
