The mayor who came in large numbers disfigured the old Bakhchisarai

The administration of Bakhchisarai laid an overhead gas pipeline instead of an underground one along the main street of the Old City, where the famous Khan's Palace is located. The pipes are painted bright yellow and, according to social media users, disfigure the historical site.

The former mayor of Bakhchisarai, Vladimir Verkhovod, claims that he warned the new city administration that there was no need to roll the street into asphalt before all communications were laid, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“How many times have I told new, visiting guys from the administration of Bakhchisarai not to rush to lay asphalt on two streets in the historical part of the city, since there are two projects left there - gasification and water supply on the street. Basenko and st. Gasprinsky. I then heard a strange answer that said, “You are all living here in the Stone Age, new technologies have existed for a long time, we will build a road, and then if anything happens, we will lay pipes under the road with punctures.” I didn't argue. What do I care about the disgraced, peripheral fool-corrupt official of their bright, unsullied mind. They also did not listen to the people living on these streets, who begged not to touch the road until communications were laid,” Verkhovod writes on his Facebook.

Verkhovod estimates the cost of asphalt streets at 50 million rubles. At the same time, according to his information, the city administration requested the City Council to allocate 5 million rubles for the design of a gas pipeline and water supply along Basenko and Gasprinskogo streets, although projects for 2015 already existed.

“And instead of opening up new asphalt and laying communications, especially since the project provided for the complete restoration of the road surface, a decision is made to allocate additional funds for a new gasification project, now externally, and simply forget the water supply project, because the water supply is externally you won’t fool me,” writes Verkhovod.

In 2016, Verkhovod resigned after a scandal when recordings from a video camera installed in his office were leaked to the liberal press. His place was taken by Alexander Tryanov, who arrived from the mainland. The media have already accused him of demolishing historical buildings, but Verkhovod is inclined to blame not the “Varangian”, but the deputies of the Bakhchisarai City Council.

“What shocked me most in this story was the position of the local deputies, or rather not the position, but the “pose.” You can understand the newcomers: they are from the “ship to the ball” or from the airport to the chair of the head. It’s not clear how you can dislike your city, your voters, and ultimately disrespect yourself so much that you can make such, in my opinion, decisions that are disastrous for the city,” Verkhovod wrote.

“As many people as possible should see this. “Effective” managers rule in Crimea. A little over a year ago, I wrote about this situation; the gas pipeline was provided for in the development plans of the settlement; it was supposed to run underground; in addition, a high-quality road was to be built there. But some smart people first decided to make a road... Well, in the end, the gas pipeline was laid the way it was laid. It turned out to be very aesthetically pleasing and accessible to everyone,” Crimean social activist Alexander Tadipov sarcastically commented on the situation on the social network.
