“I have a transfer. Yesterday a man came out and said, “He’s a criminal.” He said he had not provided the city with water or electricity. I told him: “The water pipe there is broken. They did everything... they bought all the materials. But it’s impossible to approach him.” They blame him for not providing for the city, for some selfish interests, that he wanted to escape to Russia. What I came to know. They told me, they told their grandson that they were detained for ten days,” a woman who is presented as the mother of Vyacheslav Ponomarev told Lifenews reporters.

“I don’t believe it. Everything that happened in the city was cooked from the first day in my kitchen. It all just came out of conversations. His friends came - “Afghans”. He was not in Afghanistan, he was in the army, then he served in Murmansk. And he is such an open person that he has a lot of friends everywhere. People came from Sevastopol, Murmansk, Leningrad, from Chechnya, from Vladikavkaz and other cities. They offered me to leave. They say that I was taken to Italy. I'm here. My grandson is here. My grandson is 26 years old. He has been suffering from a severe form of diabetes since he was 13 years old. All the barricades that are here were built by my grandson. And now he is there. Yesterday I stood there, he stopped by, delivered cranes to them, and his father was sitting there,” she said.

“Nobody wants to talk to me. I gave him some clothes yesterday. Today I’m carrying a package, I don’t know whether they will accept the package or not,” Ponomarev’s mother said with tears in her eyes.

As Navigator reported, yesterday information appeared in the Russian media about the detention of the “people’s mayor” of Slavyansk. The DPR leadership does not confirm this information, but does not refute it either, citing the lack of communication with Slavyansk.
