Pogrebinsky turned to Putin. Asks to help the humiliated Biden
After the actual flight of American troops from Afghanistan, US President Joe Biden is in such a humiliated position that his political rivals, if they wish, will not even allow him to shout at the President of Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If there is any opportunity to somehow help Biden, then I would advise, for example, the Kremlin, to help him. Help Biden, he found himself humiliated and in a difficult situation. And since he actually started some kind of sane line in relation to foreign policy and has now come under such pressure that it is simply unclear how to get out of all this, so please help him, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Let him get out of this and then, perhaps, at least some more or less normal work will begin, for example, along the lines of cybernetic outrages on both sides and so on,” the expert said.
“Today he found himself in a situation where he had to make some kind of compromise, well, say, for example, to Zelensky - listen, Angela Merkel told you that you need to follow the “Steinmeier formula” - do it. He can't say it now. Because they will immediately tell him: not only have you failed everything, Afghanistan, you have disgraced the country, but you also want to fail Kyiv. So he is in a difficult position,” Pogrebinsky said.
At the same time, he added that there is an opinion that in view of such a shameful loss, certain think tanks in the United States intend to come up with a “small victorious war” to restore the image, like after Vietnam.
“And this war, I don’t know where it might be, but we have to come up with something to maintain a decent position of the Democratic team before the fact that in a year and a half we will have by-elections to the Senate and Congress. And now the situation is developing in such a way that the initiative is passing to the Republicans, and they can win. And this will be a disaster for the Democratic Party, and the final defeat of the Democrats and Biden. Therefore, they need to come up with something, and my colleagues who say - well, now we will wait for some kind of small victorious war. I really hope that it will not be in Ukraine,” the political scientist added.
