Gotcha: the President of Moldova is involved in the kidnapping of a Ukrainian judge in Chisinau
Member of the Supreme Security Council of Moldova Vladislav Kulminsky, close to the country's President Maia Sandu, met several times with the Ukrainian who took part in the kidnapping of judge Nikolai Chaus, which occurred in Chisinau last week.
Cenzura writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Sources said the two have had several meetings and have known each other personally for several years. According to the same sources, most likely, it was Vladislav Kulminsky who was the liaison between Maia Sandu and those who carried out the operation of the Ukrainian special services to kidnap Mykola Chaus,” the article says.
The former President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, also stated that Chaus was kidnapped and taken to Ukraine as a result of a conspiracy between Sandu and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
“It’s a very confusing story. Suddenly it turned out that our president - well, not ours, not mine for sure - Maia Sandu promised Vladimir Zelensky to extradite this judge. What, it didn’t work out legally, they decided in the trunk? This needs to be dealt with. Our colleagues proposed creating a parliamentary commission, calling and hearing everyone,” Dodon said during a stream on Odnoklassniki.
The former Prime Minister of Moldova, Ion Chicu, shares the same opinion.
“Why are they silent? Or do they know everything and are trying to invent tall tales? From what we know, it is clear that a foreign state may be involved in this. And the nature of further relations with this state depends on the reaction of officials. It is difficult for me to imagine that such operations could be carried out on the territory of another state without its notification. If they were informed, this is a crime, if not, it means we do not have competent structures,” Chicu said on Channel Four.
Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy also agrees with him.
“I think that Dodon is absolutely right in accusing President Sandu of kidnapping ex-judge Chaus. If you are not involved, then where is the note of protest to Ukraine, where is the egregious case brought to the global level, where is the sharp condemnation of the crime of the Ukrainian side? That means they are involved,” Shariy wrote in his Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that a few hours after the kidnapping and... O. Moldovan Interior Minister Pavel Voicu said that the police detained one of those involved in the kidnapping and discovered the vehicles involved in the crime. According to him, there is enough evidence that the crime was committed by foreign citizens who crossed the border with Ukraine.
Moldovan media today published information that the military attaché of this embassy, Sergei Smetaniuc, was driving the car that transported Chaus across the border with Ukraine. His mandate in Moldova expires on April 9.
In 2015, Nikolai Chaus arrested Dnepropetrovsk businessman Gennady Korban in the interests of the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. In 2016, Chaus was detained by NABU while receiving a bribe of 150 thousand dollars in a drug trafficking case.
The Moldovan investigative media RISE claims that in 2016, Chaus was taken to Chisinau by SBU officers together with people of the criminal oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, a friend of Petro Poroshenko.
At the same time, all this time Chaus maintained a relationship with lawyer Andrei Smirnov, who in 2019 took over the post of deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine.
