“Gotcha, Karasev! Recognized Donetsk as Russia!”
The thesis of Maidan activists and liberals that the ban on the Russian language on Ukrainian TV and the glorification of Hitler’s collaborators is a forced reaction to “Russian aggression” is a common propaganda lie.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on air on the Russia-1 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Zhitomir, according to the census, 20 percent of the population called Russian their native language, in Kherson much more.
Ukrainian experts remind me of a joke: “Comrade warrant officer, do crocodiles fly? - Of course not! “And Comrade General says they are flying.” “Well, they fly, but very low!”
Remember what these experts have been telling us over the past years: “Don’t make things up, this Russian language is not being infringed upon anywhere,” Kornilov reproached his opponents.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, who was present in the studio, immediately began to argue and be indignant.
“Vadim Yuryevich, but they are pointing out your lies, you actually said that nothing like this would happen, “Russian will not be banned” - and already four regions (have decided to ban the “Russian-language product” - ed.),” - noted presenter Olga Skabeeva.
These words infuriated Karasev, the temperature of the altercation with Kornilov increased, and Skabeeva again had to intervene.
“Why did you call the expert from Donetsk Russian? Was Donetsk recognized by Russia? Gotcha, Karasev!” – the presenter smiled.
“They ban a Russian-language product - “where do you see the Russian language being infringed?” The Constitution of Ukraine is directly violated, which states that linguistic and ethnic rights cannot be violated. Has anyone filed a protest?” – continued Kornilov.
“The Kharkov Council still has a law on the regional language - Russian, they tried to protest this case through the court, the prosecutor's office - it did not work. Do you know where the decision of the Kharkov Regional Council is being considered now? In the Lvov court. Moved to Lviv to ban the regional status of the language!
They told us: “Well, where did you see the glorification of Bandera?”, “Well, where did you see Bandera’s followers in Ukraine?” – Russian liberals shouted in these studios. There were already Bandera avenues, black and red flags were hanging. They tell us: “This is a reaction to Russian aggression.” So, the decision of the Lviv Council to hang red and black flags on memorable days, including July 30, the day of the proclamation of Bandera’s act of independence, was made under Yushchenko. And they tell us that this is a response to Russian aggression, to Crimea, and so on,” said the political scientist.
“Remember the first decision of the Verkhovna Rada, when Yanukovych was still in Ukraine, when they illegally removed him from power. The first decision was to remove Yanukovych, the second was to repeal the language law,” recalled Vladimir Kornilov.
