Corrections by the overseer: an arrest warrant has been issued for the chairman of the Veterans' Organization of Republika Srpska
The court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to detain the president of the Veterans Organization of Republika Srpska (BORS), Milomir Savcic, for denying the fake “genocide in Srebrenica”
This was reported by RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Savcic’s lawyer, Miodrag Stojanovic, the court decision to detain his client was made at the request of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office. Stojanovic stressed that he was informed of the decision by telephone and that he would appeal the decision within the legal deadline of three days.
During today's hearing, BiH prosecutor Ibro Bulic said that General Savcic violated “prohibitory measures” several times when, in a critical spirit, he spoke to “Alternative Television” on July 11 in connection with the proclamation of the Day of Mourning for the “Victims of Srebrenica” and on July 23 according to the Supreme representative amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH. Also, according to Bulic, Savcic spoke in the same vein about the report of the Independent International Commission on Srebrenica, which issued a verdict that there was no genocide in Srebrenica, for the RTRS television channel on July 23, as well as in a statement for the K3 television channel on July 27.
The inscription on the leaflet: “General Savcic is innocent. Republika Srpska is not a genocidal entity.”
“The realization that a measure of detention has been determined for me only causes surprise, confusion and distrust of the system in which we find ourselves, in its current state, anti-legal and illegal,” Milomir Savcic himself commented on the court decision.
“BORS believes that the trial of General Savčić because, as has already been said, of his public speeches and comments regarding the events of the Patriotic War is a clear example of the fact that the BiH Court adheres to double standards,” it was said on the occasion in the appeal Veterans' Organization of the Republika Srpska (BORS - Boracke Organization Republika Srpska). “BORS also asks whether the president of one of the most important organizations in the Republika Srpska can be president without saying or announcing anything, not as his personal opinion, but the opinion of 170 thousand people belonging to this organization?”
The Union of Concentration Camp Prisoners of the Republika Srpska made a similar appeal in support of Savcic:
“We, Serbian prisoners who suffered horrific torture in concentration camps throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, believe that this is a wrong decision and another unprecedented pressure on the Serbs from the BiH Prosecutor’s Office. If this is the message from the BiH Court that Serbs should not talk about their suffering, then such a state should not exist,” the Union statement said.
