Populists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation ride the protest agenda
The main beneficiary of the growth of protest sentiments in Russia in the upcoming parliamentary elections will be the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Political scientist Dmitry Orlov stated this at a round table in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The second place is most likely occupied by the Communist Party... Back in the spring, the LDPR’s rating was higher than that of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. It is now difficult to imagine what options are possible. The gap is from 2 to 5 percentage points,” Orlov said.
He believes that the growth of the Communist Party's performance will be facilitated by its first place on the ballot.
“I think that one of the factors in the growth of support for the Communist Party was its tough and consistent opposition to compulsory vaccination. There are other assumptions,” Orlov said.
He believes that with a 70% probability there will still be 4 parties in the new Duma. "United Russia" will take 51-54% of the votes, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation - 16-18%, LDPR - 10-12%, "A Just Russia" - 8-10%.
