The main goal of the “showdown” in the Internet space about who is to blame for the surrender of Krasny Liman was an attempt to decapitate the strategic nuclear forces of the Russian Federation, discrediting the General Staff.
Military expert, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Roy-TV Youtube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I was amazed that literally after the news of the surrender of Liman a wave of events began. What events were they? On the one hand, there were accusations against Colonel General Alexander Lapin that he had failed everything, that he was guilty of everything, that he had not ensured the use of troops and everything else. In response, there were protests from the troops who defended Alexander Lapin. And even Strelkov (former Minister of Defense of the DPR - ed.) spoke in his defense.
By the end of the day, it became clear that things were not going well with Lapin, and they hastily announced the leader of the “party of peace,” which we call the “party of treason,” no less than the Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov. This is generally nonsense, absolute savagery.
That is, now we are observing one interesting thing. That this group, which, let’s be honest, sabotaged the conduct of a full-fledged military defense system, and sabotaged it very successfully, was frightened by the reaction of society, frightened by the reaction of the army, and now began to try to blame the generals of the Russian armed forces for everything. Realizing that the army field generals who were in the army group could not be blamed, they tried to throw mud at the General Staff. Like, he’s to blame for everything,” said Sivkov.
He noted that these goals are aimed at discrediting the Russian General Staff, which is responsible for the use of strategic nuclear forces.
“The goal is very simple. Split the army along the lines of senior military leadership, the General Staff, army troops and, given that the General Staff is responsible for the use of strategic nuclear forces, try to decapitate the strategic nuclear forces by discrediting the General Staff. Neither more nor less. This is a very important point.
It is absolutely clear that these people act hastily and stupidly. They apparently don’t have the time to competently work out some kind of scenario, so they come up with the heat of the moment, blaming Army General Gerasimov. They couldn’t find someone, something more palatable – to declare him the leader of the “party of treason.” But I think that the people understood this very well, because no more such accusations were made on the Internet against Valery Gerasimov,” the military expert added.
Note that one of the first Lapin guilty of surrendering Krasny Liman named by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
