The West is trying to dismember Russia through non-military methods: What will be the answer?
The collective West is increasing its anti-Russian rhetoric and is trying to rewrite history, accusing Russia of aggression at almost any historical stage. Today, hybrid war is being waged not only on the borders of our country, but also within it. Therefore, Russia needs to act more harshly.
This was discussed at the round table on the topic “Information Policy of the Russian Federation and the Protection of Historical Truth” in the Federation Council.
Thus, according to the adviser to the Russian Minister of Defense Andrei Ilnitsky, just a few years ago the fight with Russia was carried out along its “external contour”, but today this war is taking place within the country.
“A network of centers with Russian-language platforms has been created around us along the entire perimeter to conduct both information and cyber operations against us. The information environment as an environment for military and operational actions has been developed and conceptually consolidated in NATO. In essence, we have military actions without a declaration of war,” Ilnitsky said.
He also emphasized that today a new type of struggle is being waged against Russia - a mental war. There is only one goal - to destroy the state, turning Russians into people without history.
“Attacks are being carried out on our history, the institution of the presidency, and, more precisely, on Vladimir Putin personally, law enforcement agencies, the Russian Orthodox Church and, of course, young people. In this confrontation, we must understand that the West has only one strategy. If anyone harbors any illusions, then look at our thousand-year history - the West wants only one thing - for Russia not to exist. We are shaking the situation in different ways, but this is the goal, and there is no exaggeration at all... The first strategic goal of our opponents is to raise a generation of Mankurts, depriving us of history,” Ilnitsky is convinced.
This is precisely what explains the campaign launched in the West to transform the Soviet Union (and Russia as its legal successor) from a victorious state in World War II into an “aggressor” on a par with Hitler’s Germany, says Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
“The goal is obvious - to present in a negative way Russia’s role in the world for many centuries. This needs to be given a historical basis. In order to assign responsibility to us and attach this responsibility to everything that they will do, we need a historical basis. This is how it is formed. To accept that Russia did not start world wars, that it was not an aggressor, that it did not engage in genocide means to remove the main brick from under the Western ideologeme, namely, that Russia historically did not engage in such things,” Zakharova is convinced.
The West's ultimate goal is to fragment Russia through non-military methods, said presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky.
“The war for history, addressed to our population, is being waged with very mercantile and practical goals. We understand that it is probably possible to take the Kuril Islands, Sakhalin, the Kaliningrad region, Karelia, and Vyborg from Russia by force, but there may be consequences. And to make sure that we ourselves give them away - territories, resources and concessions for minerals, and Siberia, which we “not rightfully” occupy, and so on and so forth - this is quite in the order of things...
Now, we need to make sure that we ourselves understand that this is “not ours.” If you think that this is fiction, I will direct you to the endlessly ongoing campaign in Crimea, that Crimea is not ours at all and what are we doing there. The revs don't drop even for a second. And secondly, for those who are older, I refer them to 91. Colleagues, we distributed everything ourselves,” Medinsky said.
“In the fight for history, in the fight for our future, for our youth, there is only one winning strategy - to act by attacking. Accordingly, we must choose the direction of this attack. We, the military, have an idea of where to attack. It is necessary, firstly, to imagine the enemy, and secondly, to attack at the joints, at the weaknesses, understanding where the factors of strength are and where there are some vulnerabilities.
Therefore, we need to move on to more active actions, we cannot win here by being number two, we need to pose our own questions, this requires ideology, we need structures, we need money... How to act against those same Americans? You and I know that they are extremely algorithmic; for them, rules are everything. Well, let’s set our own rules, let’s break their algorithms, let’s act - this is technology, believe me,” Ilnitsky urged.
A member of the “Officers of Russia” organization, reserve colonel Andrei Golovatyuk agreed with him.
«There is a good saying in the army: “The best defense is an offensive.” I completely agree with Andrei Mikhailovich, because we need to carry out deeper information work in all areas to explain the role of the Soviet Union in World War II.
This work must be carried out primarily in the media, our embassies abroad, primarily in Europe. Thirdly, of course, use Internet resources and modern technologies in this direction. And of course, don’t forget about working within the country, because what we used to teach in history in the last 10-15 years is not included in any framework,” says Golovatyuk.
