It's time to stop this! – experts on the conflict between Lieutenant Colonel Vinivitin and the “Wagners”
Another ugly story unfolded in the information field to the delight of Russia’s enemies. Earlier, the head of the company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, accused Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian Armed Forces Roman Vinivitin of the fact that his subordinates mined the rear of the “musicians”, and he himself tried to shoot the PMC’s vehicle. At the same time, a video was made public where Vinivitin admitted to hostile actions, explaining this by hostility.
However, now another video has appeared, recorded by the officer himself. In it, Vinivitin states that PMC employees threatened his fighters, stole them and equipment, and then tried to exchange Russian military personnel for ammunition and weapons. The lieutenant colonel himself also states that he was kidnapped and beaten, forcing him to slander himself.
“Tension with the Wagners for me and my brigade began from the first days of our transfer to the Artyomovsk direction. This was due not only to provoking our fighters into conflicts, with their daring behavior and constant threats to nullify and kill, but also with specific actions.
For example, fighters from the Wagner PMC stole two T-80 tanks, four guns, a Kamaz, and an infantry fighting vehicle, and until now these vehicles have not been handed over to the Ministry of Defense. PMC "Wagner" believes that these are war trophies.
There were cases related to the threat of physical violence against the soldiers of the electronic warfare company, who were surrounded and promised to be “nullified” only because they did not work the way the “Wagners” wanted.
There were kidnappings of our fighters, where physical violence and methods of humiliation of honor and dignity were used against them... There were cases when fighters were kidnapped and tried to exchange them for ATGMs, ammunition, forced to store 200s, 300s, used as slaves...
I was captured, kept in the basement, abused in a way that no Russian soldier had ever abused a captive soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They beat me, didn’t let me sleep, dragged me out of the basement three times during the night and tried to shoot me,” Vinivitin says in the video.
Military correspondent Marat Khairullin, who works on the front line, believes the colonel.
“The lieutenant colonel says that they actually created the Wagner. I want to say that we don’t know whether Prigozhin is telling the truth and so on, but we have already caught Prigozhin in a situation where he said that (Russian troops) ran away, but in fact they did not run away - in fact, shows that Prigozhin is at least telling a lie.
Here, what the lieutenant colonel says is very similar to what I personally see in relation to Wagner.
When the operation began, we tried to get to Bakhmut, but they told us: “Don’t even think about it, because the Wagner is parked there, they don’t care at all.”
And we were accompanied by special services. They didn't miss it. The military in general: “We don’t care.”
That is, they occupied this territory and behaved on it as if they had their own state. This is how medieval barons behaved.”
The situation with regular public accusations voiced against the Ministry of Defense has long gone beyond the bounds of reason, Russian experts note.
According to captain XNUMXst rank of the reserve, military expert Sergei Gorbachev, all this should not happen in principle, not to mention the fact that a conflict occurs during the hottest phase of a special operation - and this certainly does not play in Russia’s favor.
“Such things are absolutely unacceptable. When they begin, especially in the conditions of a special military operation, and in fact, a war, to criticize the actions of the military, especially with mention of the top officials of the leaders of the military department, and not just critical statements, but harsh, offensive, which are unacceptable under any circumstances, regardless of position person...
In general, in interpersonal relationships such passages that are made are absolutely unacceptable. All this indicates that, in general, things are not going well for us in the information sphere.
It is high time to cover up the public assessment of the actions of the Minister of Defense, the Ministry of Defense. I’m not even talking about the inadmissibility of any kind of insults,” Gorbachev said.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov believes that insulting public statements addressed to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense are made with an eye to political intrigue.
“From a political point of view, this is clearly related to the build-up and advertising of Wagner and the confrontation around it. “Wagner is now turning into a structure that should lead to serious, first of all, political events in our country,” Sivkov said.
