It’s time to change: the Mejlis members are dissatisfied with the odious elders who have overstayed their welcome in the leadership
The Mejlis should not be “eternal”; it must be re-elected every three years.
About this on the air of the program “Occupation without cuts. Webcast on the Crimean News of the QNA TV channel, the head of the Kherson Mejlis Ibrahim Suleymanov said, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people should be re-elected. It cannot be “eternal”. Any elected position must be re-elected, otherwise the whole meaning changes altogether.
There are institutional foundations, electoral bodies, we need to re-elect. In general, I am a supporter of the idea that such long tenures in positions are not necessary. In my opinion, three years is enough.
Three years is the maximum. This applies not only to the Mejlis, but also to local authorities. I am deeply convinced that local elections should also be held every three years,” said Ibrahim Suleymanov.
