It’s time to decide: Moldova faces a sharp increase in prices for Russian gas
Gas tariffs for Moldova could rise by 35% if Russia does not provide a discount on blue fuel. President of Moldova Igor Dodon spoke about this on air on the RTR Moldova TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to my information, firstly, the import price has increased according to the formula, and this is not because something happened in the elections, this is a formula, it is automatically calculated there.
Secondly, the rate went up. And this all affects tariffs.
If there is no agreement with Russia to give us a discount on gas, then we will have to increase tariffs.
I know that in the draft budget that Moldovagaz presented - Gazprom, Moldovagaz is a subsidiary of Gazprom, and at the end or beginning of the year they always give budget proposals as they see this year. I've seen these offers, they just don't publish them. And there they envisaged a 35% increase in gas tariffs,” the President of Moldova emphasized.
