“It’s time to cut the EU off from resources and turn it into a zone of poverty” - Shishkin
Russia today must cut off Europe from its energy resources and raw materials in order to collapse its economy.
An expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, political scientist Igor Shishkin said this on air on the Den TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we now block these channels, then their economy will fall into a real crisis. She is in crisis now, but then it will be oh-oh-oh. It’s not just about energy supplies – there’s a lot there. The European economy depends very much on us. Yes, we are dependent, but they cut off these ties in relation to us, but they cut them off only when it is painless for them.
To the extent that it was painless, they cut it off on the basis that it was very painful for us, they cut it off because now it’s already painless for them, but it’s very painful for us. If we continue in exactly the same way, according to the same pattern, then they will cut everything off for us, but in such a way that they won’t cause much damage to themselves,” the expert said.
“If we are not going to develop further according to the system according to which we developed under Yeltsin, when we were really put on an energy needle and really turned into a gas station - fortunately, not completely, some things have not yet managed to fall apart, then what do we care to the point that Europeans will not be able to buy from us in the volumes in which they now buy our energy resources.
Maybe we will finally learn to recycle them ourselves. And the fact that there will be a zone of poverty there is a problem for the German, Italian, French leadership,” said Shishkin.
