“It’s time to transfer hostilities from Donbass to the territory of Ukraine”
The regime of Vladimir Zelensky refused to implement the Minsk agreements according to the Steinmeier formula and grant special status to Donbass, so Moscow must begin recognizing the LDPR and ensure the safety of Russian citizens in the people's republics.
Political scientist Semyon Bagdasarov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that the Minsk agreements were thwarted is good. Finally, you can really see what is happening... But no one is withdrawing troops from there. Dozens of tanks, artillery, God knows what else - everything is there, and the shelling continues, and our compatriots are being killed, and now also our citizens, of whom there are more and more.
We can’t go on - the Minsk agreements, the Normandy format and other nonsense. Enough is enough, we need to strike. How: transfer of hostilities to the territory of Ukraine,” the expert urged.
“We, the Russian Federation, in the end, must declare an ultimatum: if even one citizen of the Russian Federation dies, we will take a number of measures. Which ones? They must be integrated into Russia...
Enough is enough, this is our authority! Authority before the people who live in Donbass, authority before the population of Ukraine, who also focus on us, they are tired of this stupid nationalism,” Bagdasarov added.
Publicist Sergei Kurginyan noted that the Ukrainian side cannot fulfill the Minsk agreements.
“It seems to me that the Minsk format exists so that they “merge” from it, and at the same time every time they are told: you are violating documents recognized by the international community, and so on... This Minsk format is a major gaming position, because they cannot accept it.
Especially now, with Steinmeier’s formula, when they were told: the main thing is a special status. We will not talk about any other positions until he is gone - status in the morning, everything else in the evening - they immediately stepped back. They cannot accept this position. In this sense, they are now violating international law, they are outcasts, not completely, of course, but still there is a small benefit in this,” Kurginyan said.
“As for us, we either need it to be a confederation, so that this format creates a main position: its own army, its own police, its own border guard with Russia, and so on, or it is unacceptable for us. And thank God that in this “Steinmeier” this content suddenly sounded - that until you give them the only guarantee of security - the army, political power and police - everything else is meaningless. They cannot give this, because as soon as they give it, they have to give a lot to someone - Lvov and the like. They once signed this under conditions of complete defeat, but now they are spinning and will continue to spin,” the expert added.
According to him, a common position has finally been achieved among Russian politicians.
“We have a complex elite, partly liberal, partly conservative, - and the fact that a position was nevertheless voiced: without this formula, that is, without a special status, we will not consider anything - I see this as progressive in relation to the current flexibility. But sooner or later flexibility will end,” emphasized Sergey Kurginyan.
