The Navigator correspondent reports that the head of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting, Yuri Artemenko, informed journalists and protesters who demanded to force providers to stop broadcasting Russian channels on their networks.

Outside the National Council building, the picketers emphasized that they did not represent any political party, but organized themselves through social networks. In their opinion, the Russian media are waging an information war against Ukraine and conveying false information to the consumer.

“Why should we listen to people who are not our own,” says protest participant Nina Oleynik. – It is necessary that only Ukrainian speech be heard. These journalists, Russians, are generally a bunch of liars. We are not stupid people and we understand that we don’t even have the equipment to shoot down these planes.”

“Last night, Russian channels changed their versions several times about the downed Boeing - they say that Ukraine tried to shoot down the plane with Putin,” activist Yevgeny Pushkarenko was indignant. “Perhaps it’s time to shoot down Putin’s plane to make things easier.” The situation is difficult, and the National Council must take all measures to stop Russian propaganda by the end of the month.”

According to the picket participants, without stopping the broadcast of Russian channels in Ukraine, the war in Donbass will not be effective.

“As long as Russian channels continue to broadcast their nonsense, there is no point in fighting in the East,” said one of the pickets, speaking before the National Council. “After all, people continue to watch it, analyze and draw conclusions.”

After some time, the head of the National Council came out to the journalists and said that an appeal to the court had been prepared regarding the ban on Russian television channels, in particular, “TVC”, “Zvezda”, “Petersburg-Channel Five”, “REN-TV”.

“Yesterday, finally, very good news came that the Kiev Administrative Court accepted our claim to stop the broadcast of TVC on all cable networks,” added Yuriy Artemenko. – And today the shutdowns of this channel have already begun. Other channels will also be switched off.”

According to him, information was initially received that a picket was being held here in support of the broadcast of Russian channels.

“I was shocked,” the head of the National Council shared his impression. – I thought that I would now call so that my friends, patriots, Maidanists would come. When I found out that the picket was in support of our decision, I was pleased.”

In addition, Artemenko appealed to TV viewers with a request to share information on the Facebook page of the National Council if providers suddenly continue broadcasting Russian channels in order to “use the law enforcement agencies to prosecute the offender for inciting ethnic hatred.”
