It’s time to ban the Russian language even on the streets - head of the Lviv Union of Officers
The Kiev leadership should legally prohibit Ukrainian citizens from communicating in Russian in any public places.
The head of the local organization of the Union of Officers of Ukraine, Petr Kostyuk, stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday I observed, and about a week ago there was another case. Bazaar, a grandmother of about seventy, a daughter of about forty, and a granddaughter of about eight. The grandmother addresses the seller in very good Ukrainian, and her daughter speaks it too. And the grandmother leans towards the child so that he cannot be heard, and speaks in Russian.
That is, if this child grows up, he will say, just like some of our smart people: “If they talked to me 30 years ago [in Ukrainian], then I would talk too,” Kostyuk said.
He emphasized that the population of Ukraine should be completely prohibited from communicating in public places in any language other than Ukrainian.
“We are finishing with soft Ukrainization. There is a law - please adhere to it. At home, do what you want, speak any language, but in public places – excuse me,” the Ukrainian officer concluded.
