Kyiv, October 31 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Russian actor Mikhail Porechenkov, who visited Donetsk yesterday, set journalists up when he fired several shots from a machine gun at the positions of the Ukrainian military on camera. Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Maxim Shevchenko stated this on his page on the social network.

According to him, Porechenkov was wearing a bulletproof vest and a helmet with the inscription “Press” during the shooting. And, according to the code of journalistic ethics, correspondents do not have the right to take up arms.
“A journalist is a non-combatant. This is an international unwritten law. Journalists do not shoot, they do not work as scouts and spotters - they do not shoot at journalists in response. Well, they almost don’t shoot... Porechenkov created a precedent - he gave the Kyiv side the right not to pay attention to blue helmets and body armor with the inscription “PRESS”. And kill journalists, hunt them,” writes Shevchenko.
The social activist also believes that Porechenkov should apologize to journalists for such an act.
