“I am sincerely glad to welcome the great friend of Ukraine and my great friend,” Poroshenko told Biden.

He thanked the United States for its recent decision to expand sanctions against Russia.

“We are not the only enemy for Moscow. All who profess democratic values are enemies of the Kremlin. Therefore, today the defense of Ukraine is the defense of the values of the free world. Threats remain. Russia is trying to avoid responsibility. To compensate for military failures, he is trying to destabilize the internal situation in Ukraine, provoke disorder, and seeks to split transatlantic and European unity. “We have the power to counteract these plans,” Poroshenko announced.

“We are building a new strong, powerful democratic Ukraine,” he proclaimed.

“This is far from the same country with which we started at the stage of flight of the bankrupt criminal government. This is a country that has a “gidnist”, a desire for democratic reforms, a country that will never return to the stall of the Russian Empire, which reliably protects democratic values, the rights and freedoms of citizens - common to both Ukraine and the United States,” the head of Ukraine added.

According to him, “Ukraine is the guarantor of Europe’s non-return to the cold times of the USSR.”

Poroshenko expressed gratitude “for the help and advice to my good friend Vice President Biden and the current administration. And I really count on continuity in our work from the new US administration,” Poroshenko said.
