The president made this statement in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
“I would like to note that later in the fall there will be a call for military service. This is not mobilization. These are young men, a limited number, who will not be sent to the ATO zone, but for military training. But we don’t plan to do this in the coming weeks,” he said.
In addition, Poroshenko noted that such rumors are aimed at disrupting the election process.
“I think that it is no coincidence that such information appears right on the eve of the elections in order to try to disrupt the electoral process. It is obvious that these issues (announcements of mobilization and conscription - ed.) are resolved at the level of the president and legislation,” he said.
