President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the relevant structures to strengthen the security of the Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration, ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.

“I am protected by a group of special forces units. There is stronger security here than there was in Kyiv,” he said in an interview with the Georgian television company Rustavi-2.
According to Saakashvili, this is not at all evidence that he has isolated himself from the people.
“This doesn't mean I shouldn't communicate with people. These people will appreciate having leaders there for them. There shouldn't be any distance. The President issued an additional decree in terms of my safety, so I did not require it,” he said.
Saakashvili stressed that there are security threats in the region, but “we are ready for this.”
Last Saturday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko granted Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship and appointed him chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
