Poroshenko was interested in the murder of Sheremet

The SBU could have been behind the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet, the investigation of which has now intensified, and the ultimate beneficiary of this was ex-President Petro Poroshenko.

The former deputy head of the presidential administration of President Viktor Yanukovych, lawyer Andrei Portnov, stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Minister Avakov made a statement that there is no access to four videos. Apparently, Minister Avakov was uncomfortable saying where they went. I am revealing to you the secret of the investigation - these four videos were seized by the Department of National Statehood of the SBU. They were seized, four videos from good places and returned to the owners - some were completely formatted, that is, there was no more information on them, and one of the videos was new. Generally a new server. They took the man’s old one and gave him a new one.

Now further - the investigation has intercepted telephone conversations confirming that the defendants communicated with the Department of National Statehood of the SBU and were their agents. In this regard, the question arises that the Prosecutor General, in order not to show off at press conferences about solving a murder to which he has nothing to do, should allocate part of this criminal proceeding and transfer it to jurisdiction.

The jurisdiction is the State Bureau of Investigation, which must immediately seek sanctions, conduct searches in this department of the SBU, seize intelligence files and answer the question of what connection there was between them. If it turns out, and I am sure, I give a 90% probability, I am sure that they had contact with this department of the SBU during the times of Gritsak-Poroshenko.

If it turns out that my words are true and they were involved in undercover work, this will mean that most likely the SBU officials from the times of Gritsak-Poroshenko are the masterminds of this crime.

From here, a motive may finally emerge - this is either an intraspecific struggle, they wanted to remove the Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov through a high-profile crime, for example, because high-profile crimes of this level very often end in the resignation of senior officials or, indeed, destabilization, or Poroshenko could divert from themselves some much larger information messages, or some other actions were being prepared. But here the connection with the Security Service of Ukraine is obvious,” Portnov said.
