Poroshenko disavowed his propaganda clichés about Russia
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in an interview with Ukrainian television channels, made a statement that should puzzle and upset local politicians who advocate continuing the war in Donbass to a victorious end, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.

“Poroshenko for the first time invited his “hawks” to think about how the implementation of militant plans would actually turn out, to compare the defense and offensive potentials of Ukraine and Russia, and also to imagine the consequences for the country,” the publication points out. - All the more noticeable against this background was what he, breaking his own traditions, did not say, although he should have. For example, Poroshenko did not remember that “the Ukrainian army is the most combat-ready on the continent and in the world” - such statements were made from him more than a dozen times. The Ukrainian president did not repeat his own pathetic statements that this army was already victoriously resisting the “hordes from the east,” defending all of Europe to the English Channel.”
“Finally, Poroshenko missed the consistent message that the whole world, and the EU and NATO, from the first moments, if something happened, would stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine,” the newspaper summarizes. – In other words, Poroshenko disavowed all his propaganda cliches, admitting that the mythical war with Russia, which thanks to him hurts Ukrainian society, is like death for Ukraine. True, among the journalists there was no one who would ask: “Mr. President, does that mean you lied to everyone about Russian aggression? So we still have a civil war?”
