The referendum on Ukraine's accession to NATO will take place no earlier than 2021.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera.
“In order to join NATO, we must meet a number of requirements. We are working to carry out reforms from economic, social, administrative points of view. It will be a long process: it will take at least 6-7 years. When we are ready, we will hold a referendum to ask the people of Ukraine whether we will join the North Atlantic Alliance or not,” Poroshenko said.
