Poroshenko made a menacing speech, keeping silent about concessions to Russia
The missile firing that Ukraine began in the Kherson region near Crimea is going well, Petro Poroshenko said.
“The first reports have already arrived about the successful launches that were carried out this morning,” he announced.

“Despite the threats from the Russian Federation, we are conducting the planned exercises today and tomorrow. Including tests of guided anti-aircraft missiles... Launches take place in the airspace of Ukraine, over the open sea, in full compliance with international law. The aerial shootings occur regardless of any statements made by Moscow. I emphasize once again: the only reason that now forces us to conduct these exercises is the need to constantly be prepared for a full-scale invasion from our aggressive neighbor,” Poroshenko said.
At the same time, he kept silent that last night Ukraine partially complied with Russia's demands and refused to conduct missile firing in the airspace over Crimea, which Kyiv considers its peninsula.
At night, Ukraine issued an aviation alert that shifted the coordinates of dangerous zones to the west of Crimea. Russian territorial waters are now not affected, and possible shootings by the Ukrainian military will not affect the safety of flights over the peninsula, the TASS agency reported, citing data from the Federal Air Transport Agency.
Simferopol airport actually continued to operate as normal today – not a single flight was canceled in the morning.
