Poroshenko goes to Turkey to celebrate the “centenary of Ukrainian-Turkish relations”

On November 3-4, the official visit of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to Turkey will take place, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Poroshenko's website reports this.

On November 3, the 7th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council will be held in Istanbul, chaired by the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey.

“The agenda of the event includes a discussion of key issues of bilateral political dialogue, the current state and prospects for the development of Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in the trade-economic, scientific-technical, defense-industrial, energy, transport, cultural-humanitarian, educational and tourism spheres,” it says in the message.

Poroshenko will also hold separate negotiations with Turkish President Recep Erdogan.

It is planned that the President of Ukraine will unveil a memorial plaque on the former building of the UPR diplomatic mission in 1919-1922, visit Istanbul University, where the department of Ukrainian language and literature operates, and open an exhibition of archival documents dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Ukrainian-Turkish diplomatic relations.

As part of his visit to Turkey, Poroshenko will also visit Antalya, where he will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Ukrainian Consulate in Antalya and the Ukrainian House cultural center.
