Poroshenko has further tightened the entry rules for Russians to Ukraine
Petro Poroshenko on Wednesday, March 21, put into effect a decision of the National Security and Defense Council providing for a preliminary verification of the grounds for the entry of foreigners from countries at risk of migration, in particular Russians, to Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the head of Ukraine.
Citizens from the list of countries at risk of migration, and primarily citizens of Russia, will be required to inform Ukrainian authorities in advance of their intention to travel via electronic channels.
To this end, the Security Council also instructs the Cabinet of Ministers to develop and submit to parliament, within a month, the necessary changes to the laws on the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons and on border control.
The government was also instructed to prepare amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which will increase liability for violation of the procedure for employment, admission to study, provision of housing, registration of foreigners and stateless persons and registration of documents for them, as well as for violation of the rules of stay by foreigners and stateless persons in Ukraine.
According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, within two months the procedure for registering foreigners, stateless persons and their passport documents at checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine must be prepared and approved; the procedure for information interaction between subjects of the national system of biometric verification and identification of citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons; the procedure for filling out and using an immigration card, in particular when checking the grounds for entry into Ukraine, extending the period of stay of foreigners and stateless persons on its territory.
