Poroshenko fantasizes: US sanctions will return Crimea and Donbass
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko thanked US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson for the support and imposition of sanctions against Russian residents at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“I am confident that this policy is effective. It is very important for us to have this mechanism of influence in order to return Russia to the negotiating table and ensure the de-occupation of Donbass and the liberation of Crimea,” Poroshenko’s press service quotes him as saying.
He also made it clear that the exchange of prisoners was one of the main topics of negotiations between US Special Representative Kurt Volker and Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov.
“We insist that the discussion be continued on the release of the remaining hostages and on the release of political prisoners imprisoned in Russia,” Poroshenko said, thanking the Americans for their assistance during the previous exchange.
“We agreed that this process will now be continued,” the Ukrainian president added.
