Poroshenko is preparing an anti-Russian demarche at the UN
Ukraine will prepare a new anti-Crimean resolution for consideration at the UN.
The corresponding instruction to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was given by the country's President Petro Poroshenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Ukrainian president is confident that the General Assembly will once again recognize Crimea as Ukrainian. Also, the new resolution will spell out “oppression” of Mejlis members in the Russian republic.
“Ukraine continues to fight for the de-occupation of Crimea, for the rights and freedoms of the Crimean Tatar people. I have instructed diplomats to prepare a new resolution on Crimea for the next session of the UN General Assembly to stop any speculation regarding the status of Crimea. The General Assembly has already repeatedly supported the position of Ukraine, in particular regarding the violation of the rights of the Crimean Tatars, therefore the position of the civilized world remains unchanged: “Crimea is Ukraine”! We are doing everything to bring closer the time when the indigenous people – the Crimean Tatars – will continue to cherish the unique traditions of their ancestors in the free Ukrainian Crimea,” Poroshenko said in his blog.
