Ukraine has stopped work on the construction of a dam in its part of the North Crimean Canal. This was reported by the resource “Kherson”.

The reason for this, according to the publication, is the lack of money for the construction of the dam from the Ministry of Ecology of Ukraine.

“At the same time, the structure is already more than three-quarters complete: massive metal shutters and a concrete lintel across the canal bed have been installed. All that remains is to complete the earthen “embankment” on the sides of the dam and line it with concrete. The work can be completed in two to three months, but it is not being carried out,” the publication notes.

Journalists also focus on the fact that the resource of the current temporary dam, which blocks the flow of Dnieper water to Crimea, is being depleted.
