Poroshenko is preparing for the last battle for the throne
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko does not have a successor, so he will fight to preserve his regime to the end.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the president will rely on the security forces.
“The current regime, unlike the power of Kuchma, the power of Yushchenko, even Yanukovych, is much more strongly organized in the sphere of power, in the sphere of manipulation of the information space and has an almost monopoly financial resource. The current president does not and cannot have a successor. This is a unique situation - he can only fight for his own power, for a second term,” said the political scientist.
He is convinced that what Poroshenko created cannot be handed over to anyone and trusted in this matter.
“This means that he will do everything not to lose, including all ways and methods. You can hardly count on political competition. Most likely, the key role will be played by the security headquarters, and not by political and informational ones, which means that instead of political competition and debate, we will have campaigning,” Ermolaev predicts.
