Poroshenko faces “Mother Maidan”: the military does not want to go to the ATO

Three times over the past two weeks, servicemen of the 51st OMB and their relatives gathered at the brigade checkpoint. We wanted to hear answers to a large number of questions. Three times they were promised that their problems would be studied in detail and on the spot by officials from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Army. But no ordinary soldiers arrived to listen.
Colonel Vitaly Chelbin took the rap for all the generals. He decided to independently go to the Ministry of Defense and convey to the leadership of the Armed Forces the demands of the mobilized and members of their families. The first and main requirement is the demobilization of those fighters who have been in the ATO zone for five months. The second is the redeployment of the 51st OMB to Vladimir-Volynsky and work with personnel. It is also necessary to carry out a record of weapons, clarify the lists of prisoners, wounded and missing.
The mothers of the servicemen asked Colonel Chelbin to put all these demands on paper and provide one copy to them in order to be confident that this is exactly what the colonel would convey to the leadership.
If the demands were not met, they threatened with a “mother Maidan” and promised to boycott the elections to the Verkhovna Rada. The soldiers asked the colonel to take them with him because they wanted to tell the generals a lot. In particular, ask them why the 51st OMB was scattered across different parts of Donbass and when they will stop using soldiers as cannon fodder. However, no one has yet given answers to these questions to the soldiers.
As PolitNavigator reported, the 51st brigade was actually defeated in the Donbass: the fighters returned without documents and weapons. They do not want to return to the ATO zone.
