Poroshenko and Klitschko broke pots: Quarrel between former allies
Kyiv, August 18 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Relations between Petro Poroshenko and Vitaliy Klitschko have seriously deteriorated: the new president did not fulfill his promises that Klitschko made in exchange for the withdrawal of his candidacy from the elections.
Journalist Mustafa Nayem stated this on the air of the “Off-the-record” program on Hromadska TV.

He explained that when Klitschko withdrew his candidacy from the elections, Poroshenko promised that after victory they would share power 50% to 50%, but this did not happen.
Now, when the possibility of early elections to the Verkhovna Rada is being discussed, Poroshenko is not fulfilling another of his promises - to give Klitschko’s people half of the passing seats on the list of the pro-presidential party.
The fact is that Poroshenko is trying to win over Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Oleksandr Turchynov in the elections, who demand in return the preservation of the positions of prime minister and speaker of the Rada, as well as the positions of deputy prime ministers in the new government.
“Poroshenko begins to cheat Vitali Klitschko. But Klitschko withdrew his candidacy, and Poroshenko became president in the first round. Otherwise, it is not known whether he would have become president in the second round. It would have to be carried out; there could be problems in Donetsk. He owes it to Klitschko,” Nayem recalled.
According to him, the oligarchs who came to the presidential administration are not happy with Poroshenko’s attempts to appease Yatsenyuk, since in reality they cannot influence the executive branch.
“Why did you pull us out of business?” – the journalist retells the indignation of the oligarchs.
