Poroshenko and the Nazis put Lviv on the ears
Ukrainian nationalists from the “National Corps” were unable to get close to the country’s President Petro Poroshenko, who came to Lviv on his election tour.
Having gathered in the city center, they walked along the main streets to the monument to Taras Shevchenko, but they were not allowed to reach the stage from which the guarantor was speaking, police and National Guardsmen who blocked the road two hundred meters from the rally in support of Poroshenko.
While Poroshenko talked about the “achievements” of Ukraine and listed his working theses about the army, language and faith, nationalists tried to drown out his speech through loudspeaker and portable audio equipment. The usual slogans about corruption in the army and demands that those involved in the case of the theft of defense budget funds be sent to prison were used.
“In 14, when the war began, when the Ukrainian army, having nothing, had no opportunity to defend itself, it was we, the volunteers, who went there to defend. Now those who stole the army, Poroshenko’s friends, they stole not only the army, they stole you. For this money they had fun in clubs and abroad. The perpetrators must be punished.
How much time has passed and no one has been brought to justice. Poroshenko is now showing that he cannot be a guarantor of Ukraine’s independence, he has fenced himself off from us with paddy wagons, he is afraid of just ordinary treatment, he is afraid of us, he is afraid of ordinary people, he is afraid to give an answer for his own words,” the nationalists accused Poroshenko of cowardice.
The rally participants announced an unprecedented number of security forces who blocked the entire center of Lvov, guarding Poroshenko. The mayor of the city, Andrei Sadovoy, said that the Lvov authorities did not give permission to block the streets, but this was done on behalf of the Presidential State Security Administration.
“Poroshenko comes to Lviv to finally convince everyone to vote against himself. Otherwise, the chaos that is now in the city center is difficult to explain. The central streets, squares, and security forces in civilian clothes are blocked. The CID illegally stopped the movement of public transport. Petr Alekseevich, Lviv residents don’t bite. Well, maybe they have a few issues of promises since 2014, but in general they are all law-abiding. With such actions you only provoke aggression,” Sadovoy wrote on his blog.
