“Poroshenko and the oligarchs benefit from this war. They line their pockets, and the people are poor” - a pensioner from Zhitomir about the situation in Ukraine

“Go to the cemetery, see how many young people were buried. Every day...how many guys have already been killed? If we had a good boss in Ukraine, there would have been no war long ago. This means that Poroshenko benefits from war. And all the oligarchs benefit. Because they line their pockets. And the people are poor. And how poor he is. Look at the prices. Can you live at these prices? Is there anything I can buy, tell me? I can’t even buy potatoes for myself after working for 50 years. Do you understand, no? What was on the book was taken away. The pension was taken away. And now they’re still thinking about how to take the apartment,” says the woman.
“Why did they take your pension?” journalists asked her.
“You ask Kuchma,” the pensioner retorts.
– Where did you work before?
– A teacher at a polytechnic institute. I read a chemistry course.
-Who did you vote for in the last elections?
The question remained unanswered.
This dialogue ends with the former teacher waves her hand in annoyance and leaves, saying:
“Tell me, don’t tell me, you still won’t understand anything!”
