About it wrote the influential German publication Der Spiegel.
Sensational data was provided by the head of Dragon Capital bank Tomas Fiala, he also heads the European Business Association in Ukraine. According to the banker, who has lived in Kyiv since the 90s and was among the demonstrators during the Euromaidan events, Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk actually sold seats in the Verkhovna Rada to businessmen who lobby their own interests in the main legislative body of the country.
Fiala said that during the election campaign, the first places on the party lists of the current president and prime minister were occupied by famous people with good reputations, and at the bottom of the party lists were a variety of businessmen who appeared there for a certain amount. Fiala noted that in this way Poroshenko and Yatsenyuk received money for their election campaigns - Yatsenyuk simply did not have the money, and Poroshenko was in no hurry to spend his own assets.
Der Spiegel journalists asked the banker about the evidence of his accusations, and, according to Tomas Fiala, in behind-the-scenes conversations everyone spoke openly about this then, and if the Prosecutor General’s Office really worked in Ukraine now, then it would not be difficult to verify such statements. The banker noted that the main problem of Ukrainian officials in the fight against corruption is that they themselves are mired in corruption schemes. At the same time, Fiala called on the West to continue investing in Ukraine.
