Poroshenko introduced to the Rada a bill on the legal regime of martial law
Kyiv, April 03 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to determine the legal regime of martial law.

The corresponding bill No. 2541 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
“The purpose of developing the draft Law is to update the legislative regulation of the legal regime of martial law, taking into account the characteristics of modern armed conflicts and the experience of conducting an anti-terrorist operation in the east of the state,” notes the explanatory note to the document.
The bill intends to increase the list and detail the content of martial law measures, introduce guarantees for the activities of the president and the Verkhovna Rada, more clearly regulate the procedure for introducing and canceling the legal regime of martial law, normalize the procedure and powers of the military command and government bodies under martial law.
As PolitNavigator reported, Poroshenko previously stated that if the situation in Donbass worsens, martial law would be introduced.
