Poroshenko wants a parade in Kyiv and Odessa. Like Yushchenko in August 2008

It is noteworthy that the tradition of large-scale parades on Independence Day was resumed by Viktor Yushchenko in August 2008, shortly after the conflict in the Caucasus, when Kyiv openly sided with Tbilisi against Russia.
Now Poroshenko’s initiative to hold a march of troops in Kyiv may face the problem of the presence of a tent city on the Maidan and Khreshchatyk - as is known, the people remaining there have repeatedly refused the authorities’ proposal to close the camp.
